The countdown to the Salone del Mobile 2025 has officially begun! With just a month to go before the event opens at the Fiera di Rho-Pero, we at Bazzi Group ask ourselves: what will be this year’s dominant trends?
To get an idea, we take inspiration from the new “Thought for Humans” advertising campaign launched by the Salone del Mobile di Milano to engage architects, interior designers, and design enthusiasts. The campaign’s goal is clear: to put humanity and relationships at the center of design.
Regarding this, Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, stated:
“We have always considered the Salone del Mobile a fundamental tool for offering growth and development opportunities for our sector, creating intercultural dialogues, bringing disciplines closer together, and illuminating Milan.”
From the video presentation of the campaign, we see clear references to modern and futuristic design, featuring fluid movements, natural materials like wood, and industrial finishes like steel.
But will the Salone del Mobile 2025 really be dominated only by minimalist colors and shapes?
We at Bazzi Group believe otherwise. While the focus is on the future, some Brianza-based exhibitors will continue to highlight classic styles, with proposals inspired by Baroque and Neoclassical design, reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
Let’s explore the main design trends we might find among the fair’s pavilions!
Design trends for Salone del Mobile 2025
Mocha Mousse: The warmth of neutral tones
According to Pantone’s forecasts, neutral colors will play a central role in interior design. Mocha Mousse, a refined and enveloping brown, will take center stage in curved and comfortable upholstered furniture, crafted with soft textures like bouclé. Matte fabrics such as silk and linen velvet in milky shades will enhance the palette of warm browns.
Total white: Timeless elegance
White will continue to dominate the most luminous and elegant exhibition stands, with a strong nod to Neoclassicism, reinterpreted in a modern key. Lacquered wooden furniture, sideboards, consoles, and marble finishes will contribute to creating sophisticated and harmonious environments.
Nouveau 1900: The return of brocade
Brocade, revived by prestigious textile companies, will make a comeback in more contemporary shades like beige and off-white. Unlike past years, the new brocade will be presented in matte tones, paired with pastel colors like pink, peach, and cerulean.
Musk & Green: A color between classicism and sustainability
Moss green will be one of the most-used shades for luxurious and soft velvets, blending the charm of classic design with the demands of eco-friendly interiors. Exhibition spaces will be enriched with regenerative gardens, creating real green oases within the fair.
New modernism: Building the future through design
In an era marked by wars, design becomes a symbol of hope. New Modernism reflects the desire to rebuild with awareness, featuring soft furniture shapes, pastel colors, and metallic details. These elements will brighten up all types of furniture, from desks to living room pieces.
Shimmering dark: Sophisticated transparencies
The charm of smoked glass and dark transparent surfaces (in earthy, black, lead, and coffee tones) will captivate luxury design lovers. These materials will be used for bookcases, walk-in closets, and furniture designed for exclusive spaces like high-end offices and metropolitan residences.
The fabulous 60s: A touch of irony and vintage
60s-inspired design will make a comeback, featuring bold geometric patterns for curtains and upholstery, monochrome boiseries, and wallpaper with iconic motifs. Sculptures and artworks with an ironic twist will complete the spaces, offering a playful reinterpretation of contemporary society.
Beyond design: Euroluce and side events
This year, the Salone del Mobile Milano 2025 will also host Euroluce, showcasing hundreds of lighting creations, ranging from classic reinterpretations to the most advanced smart lighting solutions.
But the Salone is not just about the fairgrounds: Milan, the design capital, will come alive with events and must-see installations. The city’s key districts will feature performances and exhibitions, redefining the boundaries between art and interior design.
